Holly + Dan Centennial Lakes Engagement Session

It was an invite to a "girls weekend" getaway to Dan's family cabin in the woods that would lead to these two lovebirds chance encounter. Dan decided to tag along after his sister insisted how much fun he'd have and about a beer into that first night, Holly walked through the cabin doors and Dan decided his sister was right.

Dan continued to ask the knock out questions throughout the night and Holly couldn't figure out if he was interested or merely interested in the merits of a good campfire and the perfect roasted marshmallow.

Sure Holly wasn't single at the time, and while Dan couldn't find himself making the mental leap he also couldn't seem to get that chance encounter and Holly out of his mind, and as it turned out neither could Holly.

Eventually, the universe would find them both single and still interested and with Dan not wanting to pressure the newly single head turner, Holly worked up the courage to ask Dan out.

They spent hours together that first date, which morphed into days together in the following weeks, which later became months…and then years. And after 7 or 8 years (depending on who you ask ;-)) they’re planning to spend eternity together as husband and wife.

I was honored to document their love at Centennial Lakes Park in Edina Minnesota and I cannot wait for their wedding next year at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake MN.

During their session, we roamed around Centennial lakes Park and it was easy to see why these two clicked and how their opposite personalities balance each other out so well.

The couple brought along their ‘dog child’ Roxanne and she just about stole the show along with my heart.

The park proved to make a gorgeous background for engagement photos and I was ‘oohing and ahhing’ just about every corner with the allure and charm of the autumn leaves.

I loved spending the afternoon at Centennial Lakes and getting to know Holly better, it felt like we were old friends. I can’t wait to spend more time with such a lovely and kind couple!
